In the Spring of 2013 Mr. Sumens graduated from Dixie State University with a BS in Music Education. He has been conducting and performing in choirs his entire life and has studied choral music with Dr. Ron Wilcott, Dr. Bart Shanklin, Dr. Gerard Yun, and most recently with Dr. Robert Briggs and Dr. Ken Peterson.
He has performed in many corners of the world from New York to Japan, including performing Mahler's Symphony No. 8 in E-flat major (the symphony of a thousand) with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir on Temple Square and performing Mozart's Requiem at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
He has been married to his wife, Mindy, since 2003. They have three young children and a cat. He is extremely excited to be teaching at Mount Nebo Junior High.
